Lighting Instruction
Please follow the instructions below to install and light your upright gas mantle.
- Replace the mantle immediately if it cracks or has a hole
- Switch off the fuel supply to the lamp and allow it to cool
- Remove and discard the old mantle
- Handle the mantle by the support wire or base do not touch the fabric.
- Remove the mantle from the top end of the box
- Place mantle carefully in position on burner
- Ignite the mantle for the first time with the fuel supply switched off to burn off completely
- Switch on the fuel supply and ignite the mantle again
Maintenance
Mantle Maintenance
- Replace your gas mantles at least once a year or when damaged
- Clean glass and remove debris at least twice a year. Removing the debris will improve performance by maintaining air flow to your gas mantles.
- Blow out the gas lines annually to ensure proper gas supply to your lamp.
