Construction Points: Your chosen site must be levelled and compacted to minimise settling. Where possible the shed should be built on a concrete base or pavers or on traditional pile foundations.

If the shed is to be built straight on to the ground, replace the bearers with H4 grade timber equivalents big enough to provide 50mm or more of clearance between the floor and the ground. Once the site is level and clear, cover it with polyurethane to protect from rising damp and moisture.

Before assembly, the underside of the floor and the joists should be painted thoroughly with a premium house paint or a colourless wood impregnation agent.
